Why am I here?

To start, I hate working. Yea, me and everyone else, right? I know, but it occurred to me one day, while talking to a former boss, that no matter how much money you make you almost always live paycheck to paycheck anyway. Why? There are many reasons but the biggest are Taxes and Wants. When you make more money, you spend more in taxes, and when you make more money you and your family WANT more. Really, why work that hard if you’re not going to enjoy the fruits of your labor?

That’s when something both scary and great happened. I quit my job. There were a lot of factors involved in the decision but really it boiled down to: ‘what is my measly paycheck really bringing to the household after daycare which I have to pay for in order to work?’. Answer: Not enough to keep working. So for the last year I have been working on how to make money from home.

It has been time consuming and even argument inducing at times but all in all I feel that I’m making/saving/winning more than I ever did as a part of the work force. Not only that, I’m happier than I ever was before and my kids…they’re happy mommy is with them 24/7….they are only 9 and 2, so that may change soon enough.

Until then, I would love to share my experiences and savings with you. I’m still a newbie at this but maybe something I learn in my quest can save you time or money on yours!

About CharityAnn

I'm a small town, stay at home mom living on a shoestring budget. I spend my time working as a ChaCha guide from home, searching out internet coupons and deals, and entering sweepstakes for fun prizes we couldn't normally afford. Through ChaCha, coupons, deals, and sweepstakes I have found a way to continue staying home with my kids while still affording the things we want. I'm still learning what works and what doesn't, but I hope to share my finds with local readers so that we may all enjoy what our small town has to offer without paying big city prices.
